Peter Krasinski returns to the Kotzschmar Organ to accompany another exciting silent film, the 1927 German science-fiction epic, Metropolis! In a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city’s mastermind falls in love with a working class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences. With the largest budget of the time, Fritz Lang’s masterpiece features huge sets, costumes, props, and crowds of extras. The scale of the stylized world and story around it made Metropolis one of the first major science fiction films and one that continues to be referenced today. Krasinski has played worldwide and broadly known for his live, improvised organ accompaniments. His silent film performances have been called “a great marriage of movie and music” and he consistently receives rave reviews about his performances. Tickets available at: PortTIX.com / 207-842-0800
