A STATEMENT FROM BOB DILWORTH,
DICKINSON THEATRE ORGAN SOCIETY

By now, via a story originally distributed by the Associated Press, and subsequently various outlets of print, TV and social media, many of our good friends in the world of the theatre organ are aware that DTOS, the Dickinson Theatre Organ Society in Wilmington, DE, has been a victim of some financial foul play.

I will not go into great detail, other than to state we are shocked and saddened by this turn of events. One single individual, trusted with the position of treasurer, acted to take funds from our Treasury unlawfully. DTOS is pursuing the matter through legal channels.

For nearly 50 years, our organization has been providing the finest in theatre organ entertainment, presented on one of the greatest pipe organs every created, to an appreciative audience who has supported us since Day One. We intend to continue that effort with concerts that will present the finest in the world of the theatre pipe organ.

While hurt by this action, our financial situation is not dire. The upcoming concert season, and future seasons, will be presented as planned. DTOS is alive and well.

All of us at DTOS appreciate the expressions of concern and support we have received since this news became public. We hope to see many of you at our future events at Dickinson High School.
