The ATOS Techincal experience is a one-week seminar that provides hands-on training for anyone interested in the technical aspects of the theatre organ. The experience covers a variety of subjects ranging from moving about an organ chamber, care of pipes, tuning, blower control, winding fundamentals, chest restoration and much more.
In 2016 ATOS the 7th Annual Technical Experience will be presented again at the working theatre organ restoration workshop of Carlton Smith Pipe Organ Restorations. There will be several subjects presented over the four days. This year’s topics will be relays and switching system for theatre pipe organs. The last day will consist of a field trip to the Hilbert Circle Theatre 3/24 Wurlitzer, and the Warren Performing Arts Center 3/18 Barton.
Primary instructors in 2016 will be Carlton Smith, Justin Nimmo, Allen Miller and Dick Wilcox, with additional teaching assistance from special guests.
