Joe Patten, also known as the “Phantom of the Fox” and a person often singled out as the key individual in the effort to save the Atlanta Fox Theatre, died Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Patten had recently suffered a massive stroke, and had been hospitalized.

I hope this finds you all doing well as we are now almost 7 weeks into the New Year. And I also hope you got your favorite Valentine something nice in time for Sunday! And you get something, too!!
There is much to discuss and update you on. First, some big news.
It is with a degree of regret that ATOS is announcing the cancellation of its STEP UP YOUR PLAYING adult teaching event. Planned for Atlanta in early March in conjunction with a concert appearance by Richard Hills, the event drew only five responses from potential attendees. At least a dozen are needed to make the event viable.

Michael Barone, host of public radio's pipe organ program Pipedreams on American Public Media, has informed us that this week's program of Christmas music will feature some music from Jonas Nordwall and his most recent holiday recording.

Greetings from Home Base in Atlanta!
The “!” at the end of that opening greeting is well-deserved. I got home Monday night after a stretch of 30 days in which 25 were spent on the road. Whew!
